Hao Ping Meets U.S. State Education Leaders

Vice Minister of Education Hao Ping met the U.S. Chief State School Officers Delegation composed of Education Commissioners from 8 states and representatives from Council of Chief State School Officers and Asia Society on May 3.

Hao briefed the delegation about the recently convenened Second China-U.S. High-Level Consultation on People-to-People Exchange and the key issues of China’s education reform and development in the next ten years. He said that the two nations have their own comparative advantages in education and should learn from each other. Hao encouraged the U.S. Commissioners of Education to play a unique role in the bilateral education exchange at the state and provincial level. He also suggested that the two sides should make joint endeavor to promote dialogues between leaders of state and provincial education departments in the two countries under the framework of China-US High-Level Consultation on People-to-People Exchange.

The delegation applauded Hao’s remarks and expressed their strong desire to carry out extensive exchange and collaboration with China including teachers and school principals’ professional development.
